Real Skills for Youth for Ages 17-25
We Make RI’s Real Skills for Youth Program is a 6-week paid internship for RI residents between the ages of 17-25 looking to start their full time career!
Over the course of training, participants will be educated in Work Readiness with Job Placement assistance at conclusion. Each week, students receive a weekly progress report to show the pathway to earning certificates in:
- On-Time Attendance
- Resume Building
- Professional Oral Communication
- Completing an Online Job Application
- Shop Safety
- Introductory Math
- and Manufacturing Procedures

Program runs Monday through Thursday from 10-2:30 starting September 18. Lunch is also provided!
Industrial Sewing
This program is specifically for workers who want to embark on a career in industrial sewing. Sewing is ideal for people with a passion for creation and are looking for a job that doesn’t require lifting or standing.
General Manufacturing
Your job training starts here, with general manufacturing practices in measurement, 5s, production and order packaging. You can get a job in as little as 2 weeks and add work experience to your resume!
Materials Handling
Specialize for a career in materials handling with forklift training, inventory control and management systems, packing and shipping, and loading and unloading cargo in a factory environment.
