General Manufacturing

1 week classroom, 1-2 weeks hands on manufacturing work. Test drive a career in a factory environment and see if it’s right for you. No commitment. Weekly stipend offered for qualified applicants.

Industrial Sewing

No experience necessary. Get paid to train in this 5 week industrial sewing internship. Start with the basics and graduate to making real products. Job placement assistance is offered at completion.

Materials Handling

This 2-day intensive training gets you job training fast! Focus specifically on forklift, inventory management and shipping for a starting job with higher pay.

CNC (Starting in Fall)

CNC operators and machinists are in high demand. From general manufacturing, you can move to the CNC track and learn to set-up, program and run a basic CNC machine for a long-lasting career with room to grow!

Program Details

At We Make RI, we offer multiple paths to a job to find the fit that best matches your skills and career goals. Programs run for 3-5 weeks, and start with the basics of working in a factory environment. Then we advance to skills like assembly, shipping, and working at productions speeds. While you’re here, you work on real projects in a real factory environment, adding skills and experience to your resume.

At the end of the session, career counselors work with you to place you in a full-time positions with our employer partners. By going through our program, you can earn more and secure a better position.

To be considered eligible, applicants need to be…

  • A RI resident
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Able to work full time at completion
  • At least partially vaccinated for COVID
