Embark on a Career in Heavy Assembly or Roofing
(classes in spring only)

Learn the essentials for working in largescale manufacturing to help assemble ships, planes, and other massive machines. This Three Week program is designed to give you the tools and practice you need to go directly to work at completion. At the end of your track, we can help you find employment with one of our large-scale manufacturers, or you can join the Roofers Local 33 Union for a career in roofing.
Please note this training track may have additional requirements listed below.
Phase One – Employment Basics
Start by learning the basics for industrial employment. Build a resume, get an introduction to our employer partners, explore open jobs, and review essential math and measurement skills. Practice working on a production line in our merch shop to learn quality control, problem-solving techniques and get up to production speed.
Phase Two – Job Shadow
Shadow a worker in your chosen field. See what a day working in heavy assembly looks like or explore industrial roofing to make sure it’s the right fit for you.
Phase Three – Pathway Focus
In the last phase of job training, focus on career specific training. Learn how to safely move stock, practice completing production tasks on ladders, get an introduction to heavy hand tools, work on assembling large parts, and earn your OSHA10 construction and factory forklift certifications. Work with roofing materials and meet with the Local 33 roofing union rep to find out which career is a fit for you.
Training runs Monday through Thursday, 9:30 – 3 and Friday, 9:30 – 12. At the end of three weeks, our goal is to have you placed in full-time position that meets your skillset, schedule, and preferred pay.
