Gain Real World Work Experience

A Work Program for Ages 17-25

Classes are full for 2025. Check back next year for availability.

We Make RI’s Manufacturing Exploration Program
is a 108 hour paid internship for RI residents between the ages of 17-25 looking to start their full time career.

Over the course of training, participants work on real manufacturing projects from start to finish, learning to work on a production line, practice measurement, perform quality control, and complete a work order.

Orders placed in our We Make Gear shop are made by our interns. We encourage them to take ownership in the production process to learn while doing.

At the end of the program, Manufacturing Exploration interns will have mastered the following skills:

  • On-Time Attendance
  • Resume Building
  • Professional Oral Communication
  • Completing an Online Job Application
  • Shop Safety
  • Introductory Math
  • and Manufacturing Procedures

All the tools they need to get a full-time job!
